A new way to see….
Stephen Hicks, researcher for Oxford University, works on the interaction between neuroscience and visual perception, artificial vision and wearable technology. In his talk he shows the results of his hard work. For the last five years, he worked on a project to create a pair of smart-glasses to better the ability to see for the legally blind. His work was awarded also by Google at the Global Impact Challenge in 2014. His next goal is to make the glasses easier to use and more comfortable to wear.

Researcher for Oxford University, he works on the interaction between neuroscience and visual perception, artificial vision and wearable technology. His work to better the ability to see for the legally blind is the result of five years of research at Oxford and of his interest for cybernetics and vision. The fruits of his labour were recognized with several awards including the 2014 Google Global Impact Challenge award and, in the same year, the Royal Society Brian Mercer Award for innovation.
